Riding Lessons
at
Bull Mountain Farm
At Bull Mountain Farm, home of Strength Through Horses, we believe riding isn’t just about learning how to stay in the saddle. As we go along, you'll also learn the principles of Natural Horsemanship. Lessons follow the nationally recognized Learning Levels Curriculum, a step‑by‑step system that helps riders build strong foundations in safety, groundwork, balance, and riding skills. Students progress through clearly defined levels, gaining confidence as they master each new skill. This structured approach ensures that every rider—whether brand‑new or growing in ability—receives consistent, high‑quality instruction.
Key elements of the curriculum include:
• Safe handling and grooming
• Groundwork and communication skills
• Balanced seat development
• Walk, trot, and canter progression
• Horse care and responsibility
As you progress through your riding lessons, with these skills you'll become an expert rider with the knowledge of Natural Horsemanship. Whether you're stepping into the stirrups for the first time or returning after years away, riders 8 years to adult are welcomed. We meet you where you are—with patience, encouragement, and as a new friend.
Our Little Riders program introduces young children (ages 5–7) to horses in a gentle, age‑appropriate way. These sessions focus on safety, confidence, coordination, and simple horsemanship skills. Children enjoy hands‑on learning, short riding sessions, and fun activities that help them feel comfortable around horses while building early riding foundations.
Pricing
All riding lessons—both standard and Little Riders—are offered at a simple, affordable rate of $40 per hour. This includes individualized instruction by a Certified Equine Specialist, use of a well‑trained horse, and all necessary equipment.
